The best season of all

The best season of all

Today is just another day. another hot, humid, miserable summer day. I don’t know about you, but I’m sick of it. So it’s just about everyone I know. It’s been a month on end of this pounding, endless Heat, and everyone is at their wit’s end. Yep, it’s the end of summer in the South. What starts as a fun season filled with social activities in adventures eventually turns into a miserable sweaty puddle of exhaustion and apathy. By the end of August, you don’t want to go outside anymore. You don’t want to see the sun anymore. You don’t even want to turn on the air-conditioning system anymore. All that you want is for the weather to finally break. You pray for the day that the sun doesn’t shine so brightly and maybe a few clouds litter the sky. You wait for the morning that they are actually feels chilly on your skin when you step outside to go to work. You pray for the day that you can turn off your air conditioning system and store it away for the short winter time. You wish every day that you could throw on a sweatshirt and be comfortable, instead of sweating through light tank tops and shorts. You start to become nostalgic and idealize the feeling of naturally cold-air instead of fake, treated indoor air that costs a pretty penny to manufacture. In short, when 4 months of sweltering heat and air conditioning usage have gone by, the fall grass starts to look a lot greener.
