Roomies turn off A/C in the middle of the evening

I appreciate my roommates & I want to make that perfectly clear.

Since my associate and I moved in together everything has been going great & I am much happier than ever before. The only thing that has been somewhat complicated has been our housing set up. Because my roommates are dating each other, they reside on one side of the cabin & I am on the other. This gives us all a lot of privacy & independence which is great. Unluckyly, it causes some problems with our temperature control. The temperature control is located on one end of the cabin & it seems like all of our Heating & Air Conditioning device is similarly imbalanced. My living room does not acquire the same amount of fresh indoor air from the central heating & cooling system as their side of the house. Normally, I can make do by supplementing with sitting fans for added circulation. The greatest problem is when the outside temperature dips at evening, & roomies turn off the A/C device with the nearby temperature control. Meanwhile I am still expecting our central cooling system to operate. All evening, my room will be stagnant & muggy. I willwake up sizzling & have no idea why the air temperature feels so awful. In the morning they always cheerfully told me that they were able to turn off the central cooling system & save us some energy. I am glad that we are being energy-conscious in our household, however I need to know when I can rely on the central cooling system versus opening my windows. Maybe this air quality debacle is less of a problem with them & a greater issue with my ability to put two & two together.
