Sometimes my brother really doesn’t think things through before he makes large decisions.
He tends to get caught up in finding a good deal or thinking something looks “cool” and jumps before he understands the entire situation. This is precisely what happened recently when he decided to upgrade his central heating and cooling system at his house. For many years, he had been complaining about respiratory illnesses and assumed that they were related to his home HVAC system. He would never listen to me when I told him to call out a certified Heating and Cooling technician for a routine air duct cleaning, and instead he let the HVAC system pump low quality air through his house for many years. Finally, he must have gotten sick of his high on energy bills and low Health standards, so he called out a local ventilation specialist. When the HVAC technician was finally at his house, my brother lost his mind and went overboard. Instead of having his central heating and cooling system serviced or conservatively upgraded, he purchased the most high-powered and high-tech Heating and Cooling appliances available on the market. He had these massive HVAC machines installed in his house the next week. These days, he still isn’t talking highly about his indoor air quality. He bought such massive heating and cooling systems that they overpower his electrical infrastructure. Now, he blows a fuse every few hours when is the heating or cooling equipment kicks into gear. Someone literally has to be home to flip the switch in the fuse box, or there is no indoor air quality control. Now, his air quality is basically unmanaged, and his respiratory illnesses have been acting up worse than ever before.
