I know a ton of people who insist that they could never live in a temperature that reMained stable year round and I do not understand this stance! Now, having grown up in a seasonally dynamic area, I can understand the charm of seeing the seasons come and go, but I’m not nearly as fond of the continually changing weather as these humans are, sure, it’s nice to see Spring emerge, to watch the trees get orange as the temperature rises and Summer emerges, to see leaves turn brilliant orange and fall to the ground as they’re upgraded by barren branches and snowfall; however, it’s also chaotic on your body and energy bills.
Since the weather is almost consistently on the drastic ends of the spectrum, being entirely sizzling or cold cold, it necessitates a lot of Heating and Air Conditioning intervention to keep your property comfortable, then there are only a few weeks out of the year that allow for natural ventilation, rather than artificial heating and cooling.
The Summer months are glaringly sizzling and humid, and the temperatures do not drop during the night, then in order to sleep it is completely necessary to run your cooling system steadily all day and night. In the winter the temperatures drop well below cold and it’s non-negotiable to operate your central boiler always, even if your home is empty, you must power the boiler in order to keep your pipes from cold, then all of this Heating and Air Conditioning usage costs a pretty penny when the energy bill arrives each month, and it’s an expense I could actually do separate from!
