I know a ton of people who insist that they could never live in a weather conditions that reMained stable year round & I do not understand this stance.
Now, having grown up in a seasonally dynamic area, I can understand the charm of seeing the seasons come & go, but I’m not nearly as fond of the continually changing weather as these humans are, however sure, it’s nice to see Springtime emerge, to watch the trees get orange as the temperature rises & summer time emerges, to see leaves turn brilliant yellow & fall to the ground as they’re replaced by barren branches & snowfall; but, it’s also chaotic on your body & energy bills. Since the weather is almost regularly on the extreme ends of the spectrum, being legitimately sizzling or freezing cold, it necessitates a lot of Heating, Ventilation, & A/C intervention to keep your loft comfortable, but there are only a few weeks out of the year that allow for natural ventilation, rather than artificial heating & cooling. The summer time months are glaringly sizzling & humid, & the hot & cold temperatures do not drop while in the night, but in order to sleep it is completely necessary to run your air conditioner steadily all day & night. In the winter time the hot & cold temperatures drop well below freezing & it’s non-negotiable to operate your central furnace regularly, however even if your house is empty, you must power the furnace in order to keep your pipes from freezing… All of this Heating, Ventilation, & A/C usage costs a pretty penny when the energy bill arrives each month, & it’s an expense I could definitely do without!
