I remember always hearing my grandmother say “kids these days, always do things half-heartedly.” When I was younger I didn’t really know what this meant until when I was an adult and had to hire contractors to work on my home when I realized what she meant.
My husband and I recently had an electrician come and check the panel boxes and outlets that were installed because we’re redoing our basement.
The electrician left his tools everywhere, and brought in dirt and mud from outside. He didn’t even wear shoe covers. It was true, this guy had to be in his early twenties and didn’t care about his job, he most likely just wanted his paycheck. My grandmother was right, this occurred consistently every time we had a contractor come in to take a look at our basement for us. This happened when we had a plumber come, however luckily this didn’t happen when we had a HVAC technician come and install some ductwork and vents for us. The HVAC technician was so nice and down to earth. He even wore shoe covers, addressed us as ma’am and yes sir, he definitely knew what he was doing. You could tell that he loved his job because he would show us what he was doing and would explain it for us. HVAC technicians should be very knowledgeable and certified. Not to mention while looking for an HVAC technician you should make sure that they are very reputable around your area. Luckily we found ourselves a good HVAC technician and next time we won’t use the same electrician or plumber again.
