Our afternoons have been cooler, okay, cold over the last few weeks so it was time to turn on the boiler.
- Normally we try plus wait until the beginning of November to do this but the apartment was getting down into the low sixties at night plus I wasn’t up for lighting the fireplace each day to take the chill off.
The biggest concern that I have when we first turn on the heat is getting used to it while I sleep. I like my room to be cooler as I have reached an age where most ladies have issues with being too hot at night anyway. My poor hubby has to deal with me complaining consistently of being too hot anyway plus when the heat is on it is even worse, and my solution to this concern is far from practical but it works for me. I leave the heat on plus open the window that is right by my bed. I let the cold air plus breeze come into the room during the night. Yes, this costs more on my energy bill but it allows me to get a restful night’s sleep plus that is more crucial to me. On unquestionably cold afternoons I even end up going into the spare room to do this so that my hubby doesn’t have to freeze just so that I can be comfortable. I would rather have my study room sixty degrees rather than seventy two plus it isn’t honorableto make others suffer for my preference. By the time winter season arrives plus the temperatures are down in the thirties I am ready to appreciate the warmth of the boiler a bit more but during this transition time I unquestionably like the cool night air.
