It’s the perfect time to chat about the day, share what’s going on with everyone and enjoy each other. Finding a sturdy and attractive table large enough to accommodate seven people was difficult. I didn’t want an overly large or ornate table that would dominate the kitchen. I didn’t want something that was so delicate it would get damaged if anyone set a glass on it. I shopped for months. I visited every antique shop, estate sale and garage sale in the nearby area. I toured every furniture store and even looked online. Nothing satisfied my criteria. If I was going to spend that kind of money on a kitchen table and chairs, it needed to be perfect. I was hoping for a set constructed out of cherry wood that would match my kitchen cupboards. Cherry wood furniture is rare and expensive. Cheap imitations are a very unattractive color and lack realistic wood grain. When I got in touch with a custom furniture builder, everything fell into place. I described my priorities and preferences, and he worked up a design. He catered the dimensions to suit the layout of the kitchen. The chairs are beautiful, comfortable and sturdy. Everything is very easy to clean. The wood is gorgeous and the craftsmanship is extraordinary. The table and chairs are definitely pieces of furniture that I will always have. I expect to someday hand the set down to one of my kids.
