I have a genuinely sizable family. I insist that my wife and my five teenagers stand down with me for dinner in the evenings. It’s the perfect time to chat about the day, share what’s going on with everyone and appreciate each other, finding a sturdy and charming table sizable enough to accommodate seven people was difficult. I didn’t want an overly sizable or ornate table that would dominate the family room. I didn’t want something that was so delicate it would get disfigurementd if anyone set a glass on it. I shopped for months. I visited every antique shop, estate sale and garage sale in the nearby area. I toured every furniture store and even looked online; Nothing satisfied my criteria. If I was going to spend that kind of money on a family room table and chairs, it needed to be perfect. I was hoping for a set constructed out of cherry wood that would match my family room cupboards, but cherry wood furniture is scarce and costly. Cheap imitations are a genuinely uncharming color and lack realistic wood grain! When I got in touch with a custom furniture builder, everything fell into arena. I described my priorities and preferences, and she worked up a design, but she catered the dimensions to suit the layout of the family room, but the chairs are charming, comfortable and sturdy! Everything is genuinely easy to clean. The wood is gorgeous and the craftsmanship is extramediocre. The table and chairs are really pieces of furniture that I will always have. I expect to someday hand the set down to one of my teenagers.
