Roomies turn off A/C in the middle of the night

I adore my roommates and I want to make that perfectly clear.

Since my buddy and I moved in together everything has been going good and I’m much happier than ever before.

The only thing that has been somewhat complicated has been our housing set up. Because my roommates are dating each other, they reside on one side of the home and I am on the other. This gives us all a lot of privacy and independence which is great. Unfortunately, it causes some concerns with our control unit. The control unit is located on one end of the home and it seems like all of our Heating and A/C unit is similarly imbalanced. My kitchen does not acquire the same amount of fresh indoor air from the central heating and cooling system as their side of the house. Normally, I can make do by supplementing with resting fans for added circulation. The biggest complication is when the outside temperature dips at night, and roomies turn off the A/C unit with the nearby control unit. Meanwhile I am still expecting our central cooling system to operate. All night, my room will be stagnant and muggy. I’ll wake up sweaty and have no idea why the air temperature feels so awful. In the afternoon they constantly cheerfully told me that they were able to turn off the central cooling system and save us some energy. I’m gleeful that we’re being energy-conscious in our household, but I need to know when I can rely on the central cooling system versus opening my windows. Maybe this air quality debacle is less of a complication with them and a larger issue with my ability to put two and two together.
