Quit my day job as a doctor

Many years ago, I made a big decision when I chose to attend University for a pre medical degree.

I knew that it was going to be a long and hard educational road, but I really wanted to obtain a career where I was able to help people everyday.

I wanted to be an authority in the industry, and to make a direct impact on people’s lives. I graduated and worked my way through medical school before becoming a fully licensed medical doctor. Unfortunately, this is one of my troubles began. After a year or two of taking care of patients, I realized that I was running out of my own patience. Everyday, I felt like I had the same conversations with people. They wouldn’t take care of themselves, and then wondered why they had so many health disorders down the line. I got so tired of having the same excruciating talks, I actually started hiding in the heating closet at times. While I was in the furnace closet, I started reading of the specifications printed on the heating system. Next thing I knew, I was looking up a travax videos online and sneaking away to perform small routine services on our Central Heating and Cooling equipment at the office. At home, I practiced assembling and disassembling my own furnace and air conditioning system at night. Before I knew it, I was well-versed in Modern Heating and Cooling appliances, and volunteering as an emergency HVAC technician during extreme weather. I realized, this was a whole new career that helped people. In fact, I enjoyed the HVAC industry far more than the medical industry. People may think I’m crazy, but these days I’m a practicing certified Heating and Cooling technician. My MD license is stored somewhere in a closet.
