Parts weren’t being installed properly

I’m definitely not the person you should ask for mechanical help.

I have no idea how machines work and I’m not interested in finding out.

I’m a medical writer for a living, and I definitely don’t find myself researching things like indoor air quality or air temperature control in my off-hours. That being said… suddenly I’m finding myself getting more and more knowledgeable about indoor heating, cooling, and air quality control. This has only happened because our old central heating and cooling system stopped working about three months ago. At the time, I called the nearest indoor air quality control specialist repair shop and calmly expected that the indoor temperature would be back to normal in no time. In fact, we never had great indoor comfort again. I’ve paid for the local HVAC repair and maintenance shop to send out a professional heating and cooling technician at least five times now. Each time, they recommend a particular repair for our AC and heating system, and I enthusiastically hand over my credit card. Problem being, the HVAC system never seems to be fixed. I finally got sick of this ongoing heating and cooling disrepair and started learning about AC and furnace equipment online. That’s when I discovered that the supposed “professional” HVAC technician was doing everything wrong! All the parts that he had installed appeared to be incorrect, according to the online maintenance and installation guide for our HVAC system. This entire time, I’ve been paying for someone to guess and check with our AC and heater. All along, I could have provided the same level of service and expertise to my HVAC system as someone who knew nothing about indoor climate control.
