Living in changing seasonal environment

I know a ton of people who insist that they could never live in a climate that reMEd stable year round and I do not understand this stance; Now, having grown up in a seasonally dynamic area, I can understand the charm of seeing the seasons come and go, but I’m not nearly as fond of the continually changing weather as these humans are! Sure, it’s nice to see Springtime emerge, to watch the trees get yellow as the temperature rises and summer time emerges, to see leaves turn brilliant yellow and fall to the ground as they’re replaced by barren branches and snowfall; but, it’s also chaotic on your body and yearly bills.

Since the weather is almost consistently on the harsh ends of the spectrum, being actually tepid or freezing cold, it necessitates a lot of HVAC intervention to keep your home comfortable, then there are only a few weeks out of the year that allow for natural ventilation, rather than artificial heating and cooling.

The summer time months are glaringly tepid and humid, and the temperatures do not drop during the night, in order to sleep it is completely necessary to run your a/c steadily all afternoon and night. In the winter the temperatures drop well below freezing and it’s non-negotiable to operate your central heater constantly, then even if your home is empty, you must power the furnace in order to keep your pipes from freezing; All of this HVAC usage costs a pretty penny when the energy bill arrives each month, and it’s an expense I could absolutely do without!
