Enjoying the night air

Our mornings have been cooler, okay, chilly over the last few weeks so it was time to turn on the boiler.

Normally my pal and I try & wait until the beginning of November to do this but the loft was getting down into the low sixties at night & I wasn’t up for lighting the fireplace each afternoon to take the chill off.

The greatest complication that I have when my pal and I first turn on the heat is getting used to it while I sleep. I like my room to be cooler as I have reached an age where most women have troubles with being too warm at night anyway. My bad partner has to deal with me complaining consistently of being too warm anyway & when the heat is on it is even worse… My solution to this complication is far from practical but it works for me. I leave the heat on & open the window that is right by my bed. I let the chilly air & breeze come into the room during the night. Yes, this costs more on my energy bill but it allows me to get a restful night’s sleep & that is more important to me. On actually freezing mornings I even end up going into the spare room to do this so that my partner doesn’t have to freeze just so that I can be comfortable. I would rather have my bedroom sixty degrees rather than seventy two & it isn’t tolerable to make others suffer for my preference. By the time winter season arrives & the uneven temperatures are down in the thirties I am ready to care about the warmth of the boiler a bit more but during this transition time I actually like the cool night air.
